Strive For Success

Today, I had to fire someone from my team. As crazy as it sounds I could not be happier!

The reason why I am happy to let this person go from my team is that I opened up a new opportunity for them. An opportunity to have their pay increased and to be able to fill in a role that is more suited for their skill set in another area of our business.

I knew that this would be a tough decision to make, but I feel confident in my choice. I put a lot of thought and consideration into who would be the best fit for filling the role, and I am confident that the person I have chosen is perfect for it.

This individual exemplifies our core values, always goes above and beyond for our clients, has been working very hard, and has been a great asset to our team, but I know that they will be even happier in their new role. And I am excited to see how they grow and develop in this new position.

This experience has also taught me a lot about myself. I have developed new skills and learned more about my management style, as well as been able to better understand the needs of my team members. Overall, this has been a very positive experience for me, and I am glad that I was able to help someone find their ideal job!

As I looked back on this experience, I realized that sometimes it is necessary to make life-changing decisions to foster growth and success for both yourself and your team members.

It takes strength, confidence, and a willingness to put others first to do what is best for the company as a whole.

You see, in our business, we know skills can be taught and improved upon. We also know that people can change and adapt to new roles. But we also know that when someone excels in an area outside of what they were hired for, it is on us to recognize it and get them in the right place to succeed immediately.

What we also value most are the core values that each person brings to the table. Those core values are what make our team strong, and they are also what make us who we are. We also focus on having good work ethics, being a giver, and going above and beyond for our clients.

We look for people who have a positive attitude, are coachable, and who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves. And the rest can be learned along the way!

If your business does not have core values and a mission, you are making it harder on yourself than necessary.

Everything we do in our business, from hiring to firing, is based on those values. We live and breathe them every day because we know that they are what keep us moving forward. And we know that if we can instill those same values in others, they too will find success.

As quoted by Henry Ford, "If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself."

This could not be any truer in our business, and I know that by making this decision, success and growth are right around the corner. I have always been a firm believer in the importance of having core values and a mission when it comes to running a business.

After all, they provide the framework for everything you do -  from hiring and firing employees to setting goals and evaluating success.

If not, I challenge you to take a step back and think about what your company stands for and what kind of people you want to attract and retain. It will make running your business much easier (and more enjoyable) in the long run!

The next time a tough decision needs to be made, remember your core values and trust that you are doing the right thing. You may not understand why it needs to happen now, but take a step back and realize that everything happens for a reason.

And that reason is always to move you and your business forward. You need to trust yourself that you are doing the right thing for the long term. Strive for success and live your values every day!
