What is difficult about putting high expectations on yourself?
Aside from the obvious part of having to work hard as hell to maintain those standards, there is the pressure to succeed that can sometimes be stifling. It can also be difficult to find others who share your same drive and ambition - making it feel like you are constantly running a race by yourself.
There are a few things more frustrating than feeling like you are stuck in low gear while everyone else seems to be zipping by you. It can be easy to become discouraged and give up when you feel like you are not measuring up.
That is why it is so important to have realistic expectations for yourself. Putting high expectations on yourself can also make it difficult to enjoy the process.
Instead of focusing on the joy of creating or learning something new, you are laser-focused on the result. This can lead to a lot of anxiety and stress. It is important to remember that the journey is just as important as the destination.
So why do we do it? Why put all this pressure on ourselves?
Because we want to be the best. We want to excel. We want to reach our full potential. And sometimes, to do that, we need to push ourselves a little bit harder than everyone else. If you are like me, you want to exceed your own expectations. You want to be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be.
It is important to remember that there will always be people who are more successful or talented than we are - and that is okay.
The key to excelling in your own life is not how much you can achieve, but rather how well you are able to enjoy the process along the way.
When you start putting those expectations on others, it can lead to resentment and disappointment. Unfortunately, it can be a hard thing to deal with because not everyone is going to operate the way you do. We want the people we love to meet our same high standards. But that is not always possible or fair. Everyone has their journey and their own set of expectations. Just because someone else falls short of your expectations does not mean they are a bad person. It just means they are on a different path than you.
It can be difficult at times to balance our expectations with the needs and wants of those around us. But one thing is for sure - if we don't have high expectations, we won't be reaching our full potential or truly making a difference in this world. And it is always better to set your expectations than live life under someone else's rules.
So try to focus on yourself and your own goals instead. Leave everyone else to their expectations, even if they are low ones. And always remember to check in with yourself occasionally! At the end of the day, what is most important is that you have high expectations for yourself and meet them - no matter how hard it may seem sometimes.
The next time you are feeling frustrated about a situation you are in or a person you are dealing with, remember that you have high expectations for yourself. It is important to find your way and make a difference in this world, even if it means putting more pressure on yourself than others do. So take some time to reflect on your journey and stay determined as you continue to push forward. After all, setting high expectations is the best way to truly exceed them.
At the same time, there is also something motivating and inspiring about having high expectations for yourself. Whether it is your career, your relationships, or your personal growth, setting the bar high gives you something to strive for. It challenges you to be better and to do more. So even though it can be difficult at times, always remember why you decided to put those expectations on yourself in the first place. And never give up on yourself - because when you reach your goals, it will be more rewarding than you can ever imagine.
Don’t forget to be grateful that you can get things done the way you do. Appreciate your efforts and be proud of how much you have accomplished in spite of the challenges you face because without gratitude, your greatness will never reach its true potential.
So don’t give up on yourself – keep setting those high standards and reaching for new goals. Remember that the journey is just as important as the destination, and you are on a path to achieving great things - always stay driven and determined to exceed your own expectations. After all, that is what will make you truly great.
